Academical

ORGANIZATIONAL - ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIOLOGY

A sociologist studies social phenomenon on different levels. I myself specialize in organizational phenomenons, often using culture as a tool to study changes in organizations. Organizational sociology is only one of two areas I put my interest in, environmental sociology is the other area. An environmental sociologist looks at how the society interacts with its environment and in my cases how it affects its environment and what ripple effects it gives of back to society.

My masters thesis is based on a 12 year old material looking at Finnish environmental institutes and the changes it went through during 1990's. My specific concern is to see how attitudes towards cooperation over institutional borders where at that specific time ( 1996-1997) and to see if the actual cooperation over institutional borders matches the attitudes.

Area of interests as a sociologist: organizational sociology, Environmental sociology, eco-tourism and what effects society has on the environment.
